As I sit here writing this it’s Wednesday afternoon, it’s about 60 degrees & pouring rain outside. Those of you who have been following me for a while know hubby & I moved last summer from our 3 bedroom apartment in the SE end of Edmonton with cross ventilation & views like this:

To a slightly smaller 2 bedroom apartment in the NE end of Edmonton with views like these (sorry these were taken in the winter so you can’t see the bridge over the LRT tracks because of snow):

The move was supposed to make it easier for both hubby & I to get to work (walk to the end of the building, across the street & you are at the LRT station sitting side by side with a bus terminal).  Health issues forced me to quit working while we were in the process of moving, so the commute thing didn’t really help me but it is a bit better for hubby.

We also loved that more of the square footage was devoted to the living/dining room with slightly smaller bedrooms.

The other draw to the new place was it had air conditioning (which is really rare in Edmonton for some reason) & not just a unit stuck in the wall, it had central air.  Unfortunately, the air conditioning has not worked at all this year.  We’ve had a summer of rain, followed by days of hot weather, then more rain.  Today, on the coolest day of this summer, the people are finally coming to fix it.  How many really hot days are there left in this summer?  Just my luck.

While you’re reading this I will be undergoing the worst torture known to a woman – a mammogram, which gets scarier every year.
