What a sad, sad thing to read. Another consequence of the tsunami which most of us would not think of.

That article is horrific.
I hope enough sea life escapes so when the trawlers overfish themselves out of existence, the popuations can rebuild.

It’s just so sad, we need to make this more noticeable so people will stop this & clean up the damage already done!

Don’t you feel that this world we live in is composed of so much sadness?

I agree so much. This must be even more horrific for your tugboat captain – has he ever mentioned this is happening?

He doesn’t share a lot of the horrible things he sees (in the Arctic, too) because he tries to shield me from pain. He’s such an ardent animal activist and good ocean steward that he becomes disgusted with MAN. I’ll ask him specifically about this when he’s home so I can share the post.

We are all affected on this earth by so many things that happen —-we are all impacted by disasters even if they do not occur in our region. It is a sad truth. This was quite an eye opening article even if it is sad we need to be aware.

We do need to be more aware & make others aware, so it will trigger someone to do something.

I don’t give a rat’s a$$ about cost. It HAS to get done. The garbage doesn’t help, but really, you can’t discharge that kind of nuclear waste into the ocean and not expect it to kill the marine life.
I , personally, wouldn’t eat a thing caught off Japan. No way, no how. I don’t know if that region wi ever recover. The damage will continue to show itself if the media actually reports it.

I think what got me the most was the cavalier attitude about the cost of cleaning it up, so they’ll just leave it. We have to raise awareness about this! I guess I just adopted another cause.
