Well, you probably guessed by now I have no idea what I’m doing. I posted a Father’s Day Tickle Me Tuesday last week because I thought last Sunday was the day. But I was wrong! The only good thing about being wrong – it gives me a theme for this week’s post, ha!
By the by, last week was my 400th post!
Helping your father
A clergyman walking down a country lane and sees a young farmer struggling to load hay back onto a cart after it had fallen off.
“You look hot, my son,” said the cleric. “why don’t you rest a moment, and I’ll give you a hand.”
“No thanks,” said the young man. “My father wouldn’t like it.”
“Don’t be silly,” the minister said. “Everyone is entitled to a break. Come and have a drink of water.”
Again the young man protested that his father would be upset.
Losing his patience, the clergyman said, “Your father must be a real slave driver. Tell me where I can find him and I’ll give him a piece of my mind!”
“Well,” replied the young farmer, “he’s under the load of hay.”

A student’s request for extra money
A student called up his Mom one evening from his college and asked her for some money, because he was broke.
His Mother said, “Sure, sweetie. I will send you some money. You also left your economics book here when you visited two weeks ago. Do you want me to send that up too?”
“Uhh, oh yeah, O.K.” responded the kid.
So his Mom wrapped the book along with the checks up in a package, kissed Dad goodbye, and went to the post office to mail the money and the book.
When she gets back, Dad asked, “Well how much did you give the boy this time?”
“Oh, I wrote two checks, one for $20, and the other for $1,000.”
“That’s $1020!!!” yelled Dad, “Are you going crazy???”
“Don’t worry hon,” Mom said, kissed Dad on the on top of his bald head, “I taped the $20 check to the cover of his book, but I put the $1,000 one somewhere between the pages in chapter 15!”

It sounds like the son might be too lazy to even turn in his books for a partial refund!

HA! Brilliant! And I second what List of X shared in his comment, some used book buyer is going to get very lucky 🙂
Loved “A Sign of the Times” cartoon!
Thanks for the Tuesday Tickles, Benze!

Ha, that last one made me laugh because my oldest just got a book as a high school graduation gift, and hidden inside between the pages was a check. Luckily he found it.
Congrats on the 400 posts!

My son would never have found the check. Ever. I don’t know why we shelled out the money!
Good jokes, as always, Benze.

HA… just reminding you that that murder mystery book that I just finished has you in it… as Bella Cotilla, my mysterious neighbor… not a big part, but you are officially famous now.

Thank you Art! Did you make me reclusive? Please let me know when the book is ready for purchase!
I hope you are doing well? I miss my friends from blogging. It seems like there was change in the notifications & instead of getting email notices they went somewhere else & once I got out of the habit . . .
Still very sad over the deaths of 2 friends to COPD in the last 14 months & adjusting (with great difficulty) to hubby’s retirement & so he’s home with me 24/7 (driving me crazy!)

awwww… I am so sorry. You need to make him get a hobby… one that he has to go somewhere to do. And the book is ready now, in my sidebar. To be honest, your character is mentioned more as the mother of two kids my hero plays with during an air raid. You don’t really have a speaking part. But I enjoyed writing in a few blogging friends.

So I guess you figured if I had a hand in raising about 10 kids through the teen years to adulthood, I would be a good person to play with kids, right?

No, I figured having the detective play with the kids during an air raid would make him seem warmer… ha
