Thank you for providing the interesting articles – unfortunately I can’t understand any of the science, it goes way over my head. The only science I understand well is biology. I can’t help but think we must be having some effect on our planet with everything we do though.

There are two main points: 1) The planet has stopped getting warmer as shown by globally distributed temperature measurements by 5 different government agencies. 2) Change to the level of CO2 has had no significant influence on it getting as warm as it did.
Given that, there is still no excuse to not clean up your own mess (better for others) and to be efficient (better for yourself). I do both.
Carbon dioxide is an odorless, tasteless, transparent, harmless gas (even at over 10 times the present level http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/Carboniferous_climate.html), is not a pollutant (contrary to the decision of our technologically incompetent SCOTUS) and is absolutely necessary for all visible life on earth. At the current CO2 level plants must sort through 2500 molecules to find one that they can use to make food. The slight increase to the current still-impoverished atmospheric carbon dioxide level has increased food production and caused a general greening of the planet.

Hubs is really knowledgeable about all this stuff, and he thinks there’s a lot of validity to global warming.

I also believe there is global warming, but some people argue the earth is just going through one of it’s regular cycles. I think we are having a huge impact on our home.

There is definitely change going on .. and as humans we really should be doing the logical things to help ourselves … move forward too – but protect our ancient parts of life – these we will need …
So much we think we know … so little we understand ..
Good to make us think – Hilary

Thanks for stopping by! I already recycle anything I can. Unfortunately I live in an apt. so composting is not an option. I think the biggest thing I need to change for myself is checking to buy locally produced products so we cut down on the amount of fossil fuel used to deliver the food to us. It’s just so convenient to go to the store & buy a favorite fruit (not thinking about the fuel used to get it to us).
