Coming from a home where the children were always in fear of what was going to trigger corporal punishment, this is so very true. A child raised in stress will continue to mirror stress. We need to stop the cycles of abuse!

A rare moment – I’m at a loss for words. Just – wow.

It just validates my opinions of the causes, 50 and 60 years ago, of the poor wife’s current actions and attitudes. It could have been SO good. Keep fighting! 😦

I may have not gotten the physcial aspect but the mental child abuse was way worse as I have major issues still and will be at peace when my mom dies.

I suffered from physical & mental abuse as a child – my parents were very fond of saying “Children should be seen & not heard” so I grew up afraid to voice my opinion about anything. The only time I tried to disagree with my father (at 16) he nearly put me in the hospital from the beating I got. My mother had to pull him off me. Another reason not to disagree, I think!
